This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Jaws," Steven Spielberg's 1975 blockbuster about a ravenous great white shark. The film packed theaters and terrified audiences, leaving behind a lasting fear of sharks. While many Americans are terrified of them, shark attacks are relatively rare and the species is widely misunderstood.
