On June 15, 2025, an Azimuth Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RA-89120) operating flight #A47053 from Moscow Vnukovo, Russia, to Batumi, Georgia, lost its number 2 engine cowling during takeoff. The pilots maintained a holding pattern at 4,100 feet for about an hour to burn off fuel before returning to Moscow Vnukovo. The aircraft then taxied independently to its stand.
