These are the steps I do to cut my first slab using a ladder as a guide. 1) find a log (this one is white pine) 2) Put the ladder on the log 3) Trim high spots to better fit the ladder 4) Screw ladder to the log 5) Set the mill to cut below the ladder (and screws) 6) Cut the first slab by gliding the mill on the ladder! That's it!! Now you can set your mill to your desired thickness and cut your slabs. Make sure the chain is sharp, it'll be way easier on you and your saw. Using proper oil.for th
