This Common Loon came in from slatington after a possible vehicular strike. Upon xrays, a pellet/bb was found in his face. After reviewing the radiographs with our avian vet, the pellet was not of concern and confirmed the bird should be released so long as he was in good health otherwise. After extensive research of the area, the Lehigh River was deemed the closest large body of water. (Loons need 100-600 foot "runway" in order to take-off) While the current of the river isn't the most ideal, c
