Geelong has been pummelled by a storm this afternoon delivering almost 11 millimeter’s of rain since just before 7pm. The storm rolled in from the northwest direction towards Geelong bringing with it thunder and lightning. A tree caught fire in Leopold after being struck by lightning. Flooding has also occurred across much of the region including Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Newtown, North Geelong, Herne Hill, Hamlyn Heights and inner Geelong.
