政府表示，大埔宏福苑的滅火及救援工作已完成，多個政策局及部門現正集中持續加強後續支援善後工作。政府已設立 大埔宏福苑支援服務專題網站 ，一站式提供住宿支援、物資援助、政府專項基金、經濟援助，醫療與心理支援等資訊，方便市民查閱。
為表達對大埔宏福苑火災罹難者的沉重哀悼，全港所有政府建築物及設施包括政府駐境外辦事處的國旗及區旗明日至下周一下半旗誌哀。其間，政府主要官員會取消非必要公開活動。所有由政府舉辦和資助舉行的娛樂及慶祝活動也會按情況取消或延期。
