Typhoon Fung-wong triggered floods and landslides, cut power to entire provinces and killed at least two people before barreling out of the Philippines on Monday.

Most of the deaths were reported in the central province of Cebu, which was pummeled by Kalmaegi on Tuesday, according to a local official.

A typhoon has killed at least 142 people and left another 127 missing after unleashing devastating floods across the Philippines, authorities said.

Six people died when a Philippine air force helicopter crashed in southern Agusan del Sur province during a humanitarian mission, according to the AP and Reuters. Their bodies have since been recovered. The worst-hit region is the island of Cebu, where local authorities reportedly said 39 people died either by drowning or falling debris.
