Labor candidate Ali France has won the seat of Dickson in Australia's 2025 federal election, taking it from opposition leader Peter Dutton. Dutton, the head of the Liberal-National coalition, had held the seat for 24 years and is the first federal opposition leader to lose his own seat.

Peter Dutton has lost the Brisbane seat of Dickson after a stunning election defeat by Labor's Ali France. In her third run at Dickson, a seat that has been held by Dutton for 24 years, France became the first person in Australian history to oust an opposition leader from their own seat.
