He was "safely apprehended" in Texas after an anonymous tip led to "critical information on his whereabouts," the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office said.

An inmate who was mistakenly released from a jail in New Orleans last month was arrested in Cypress on Tuesday, according to the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office.

Khalil Bryan, the Orleans Parish jail inmate mistakenly released from the lockup in July, was arrested in a Houston suburb on Wednesday morning after nearly a month on the lam, authorities confirmed. A Crimestoppers tip led to the arrest, Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson said.
