Halle Berry entered a new chapter of her style journey upon arrival at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on Monday. The Oscar-winning actress serves on the jury, led by Juliette Binoche, for this year’s film festival.

International stars of Hollywood and beyond hit the Croisette once again Tuesday to kick off the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival.

“I don’t know if 007 really should be a woman,” Berry responded. “In 2025, it’s nice to say, ‘Oh, she should be a woman.’ But, I don’t really know if I think that’s the right thing to do.” Berry previously played the character Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson in the 2002 film “Die Another Day” alongside Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.

Halle Berry had fans buzzing over the weekend after posting a cheeky and flirtatious video with her boyfriend, musician Van Hunt, which caused a fan to reach out to Berry with a bold request. The video, uploaded to her official X (formerly Twitter) account early on Monday (May 12), featured the couple lounging in bed together in Cannes, France.

The "Die Another Day" actress told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival she doesn't know if casting a woman as the next Bond is "the right thing to do."
