The House has passed a Republican-led bill that would rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, moving a step closer to codifying President Donald Trump’s push to rename the body of water.

Washington — The House is expected to vote Thursday on a bill to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America," which would codify an executive order signed by President Trump on his second day in office.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said her proposal to use the name Gulf of America would spark “pride” and codify President Donald Trump’s agenda.
