One of Colorado’s newest wildfires, the Derby fire, tripled in size overnight Tuesday and doubled again on Wednesday, consuming more than 1,700 acres.

The Derby Fire is moving quickly in Garfield and Eagle counties, burning almost 1,000 acres between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
