Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been deported to Mexico, where he’s wanted for alleged cartel ties, following his arrest in the U.S. for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

The fighter, arrested by U.S. agents last month shortly after a loss to Jake Paul, was sent to his native Mexico, where a warrant for his arrest has been outstanding since 2023.

Just a few days after coming up short against Jake Paul in a boxing match a couple of months ago, former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was arrested by ICE for outstanding warrants for allegations of organized crime and ties to the Sinaloa Cartel.
