New York Mets owner Steve Cohen "certainly won" the protracted negotiations with Pete Alonso and agent Scott Boras, according to Fox Sports.

Three other Scott Boras clients recently opted out of short-term deals after one year, then struck belated free-agent riches.

Pete Alonso’s free-agent saga is over, and he ended up right where he started. The first baseman agreed to a two-year, $54 million contract with the Mets, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported.
