New York City isn't the only area impacted by the smoke the wildfire in Ocean County, N.J. is producing. A hazy sky hovered over the entire region.

Shifting winds have been pushing smoke and tiny particles from the big Ocean County wildfire north towards New York City, sparking air quality alerts in the region Thursday.

A New Jersey wildfire Thursday prompted a New York City air quality alert until midnight covering Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Rockland.
