The storm is moving toward the north-northeast near 12 mph, and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or so, followed by a turn to the northeast, according to the hurricane center. Fernand is expected to begin weakening on Monday night, Aug. 25, and is expected to become post-tropical by Wednesday, Aug. 27.

C OLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Thankfully, Fernand remained well east of Bermuda, avoiding a direct hit of the island. This morning, Fernand remains a Tropical Storm, with sustained winds of 50 MPH.

Tropical Storm Fernand is forming near Bermuda with 40 mph sustained winds. This storm will not make any impact on land as it stays out in the Atlantic. There’s another area we’re watching for development that’s currently about 200 miles east of the Windward Islands.
