The Netflix television series Emily in Paris suffered a tragedy while filming a scene at a hotel in Venice, Italy. The news was announced on Aug. 22 by the Italian-language newspaper, La Repubblica.

Diego Borella, a locally hired third assistant director, on the Netflix show Emily in Paris, has died. He was 47. Borella reportedly collapsed on set while the series was filming season five in Venice, Italy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Season 5 of Emily in Paris was put on temporary halt after a crew member suddenly died during the series Venice shootings.
