Boeing landed its biggest deal for widebody airplanes on Wednesday when state carrier Qatar Airways placed firm orders for 160 jetliners plus options to buy 50 more during President Donald Trump's visit to the Gulf Arab country.

Boeing and GE Aerospace received a $96 billion order from Qatar Airways as President Trump looks to boost investments in defense and aircraft in the Middle East after reaching artificial intelligence and tech agreements on Tuesday.

Qatar Airways today has placed the largest aircraft order in its history with manufacturing partner Boeing. As part of its strategic fleet growth plan, that includes up to 210 Boeing widebody jets – 160 firm and 50 option – which is the largest widebody order and the largest 787 Dreamliner order in the American aerospace company’s history.
