Washington, Indiana Basketball
SEATTLE, Wash. — Indiana basketball fans brought a taste of Assembly Hall to the West Coast on Saturday afternoon in a 78-62 win over Washington. There was a large contingent of IU fans in attendance at Alaska Airlines Arena, and they closed out the game with chants of "Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers" in celebration of their team's third straight win.
The Hoosiers were also unsure as to the status of their second leading scorer, Malik Reneau, who was a late scratch from the lineup against Penn State with an illness that required emergent medical attention.
Katie Lue Samuelson is headed to the Seattle Storm, Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press reported on Thursday. It’s the latest move in a busy WNBA free agency, and one that seems to benefit both the veteran forward and a Seattle organization looking to contend next season.
The UW men have two games left, but for all intents and purposes, their first season in the Big Ten ended following a 78-62 defeat against Indiana on Saturday.
