The United States opposes the initiative proposed by EU leaders to expand the use of frozen Russian assets by providing a reparations loan to Ukraine, Bloomberg reports. According to the outlet, US officials told European partners at IMF meetings in Washington last week that they will not join the initiative at this stage.
Earlier, Trump met with Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as he pivots to brokering an end to the nearly four-year-old war in eastern Europe.
