NFC, Pro Bowl and Jared Goff
Lions general manager Brad Holmes says he doesn't expect a drop-off in quarterback Jared Goff's play after offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's exit to the Bears.
Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions were set to play their first game of the NFL playoffs, a Divisional Round matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Ahead of the Divisional Round matchup against the Commanders, Jared Goff's wife, Christen Goff, took to social media to show off her game-day outfit.
Lions fans saw their season flash before their eyes in the divisional round, and Jared Goff's interceptions were part of the difference.
Goff’s 4,629 yards were second only to Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (4,918). Burrow is also a finalist for the award, along with Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
It’s no secret at this point that the Detroit Lions sported one of the best offensive lines in the NFL during the 2024 season. Right tackle Penei Sewell was originally selected to go to the Pro Bowl, left tackle Taylor Decker is replacing Sewell due to injury and center Frank Ragnow is also heading to Orlando.

Detroit quarterback Jared Goff delivered a near-perfect performance in "passing the test" and helped the NFC take a 14-7 lead over the AFC during the opening night of the Pro Bowl Games.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff took full advantage of his opportunity to shine during the Pro Bowl Games Thursday. The MVP finalist took part in the event called “Passing the Test”, in which a quarterback was paired with a wide receiver who answered trivia questions. Each correct answer added ten seconds to the quarterback’s base time of 40 seconds.
Goff, after getting some help from Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs via an NFL trivia contest, showed off his passing acumen.
Manning is the NFC coach at the Pro Bowl Games, and he's trying to score his own three-peat over his brother, Peyton, who coaches the AFC. Eli is in good position to accomplish his goal after the NFC took a 14-7 lead Thursday night at the skills challenge.
