Junior Caminero hit his 22nd home run of the season when the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, achieving a feat only seen four other times across MLB history.

Tampa Bay Rays Third Baseman Junior Caminero has had a great first half of the regular season. He is the fifth player in league history, 21 or younger, to have 23+ home runs in the first half of the regular season.

Caminero made it to the final round but lost to Seattle’s Cal Raleigh, the majors’ regular-season leader, 18-15. Raleigh hit 18 homers (15 in regulation and three in the bonus round) in the final round; Caminero hit 14 in regulation and one in the bonus round.
