EXCLUSIVE: Following the successful launch of Thunderbolts*, director Jake Schreier might already have his sights set on the next big Marvel Studios project as sources tell Deadline he is in early talks to direct the studio’s new X-Men movie.

Screenwriter Michael Lesslie, who recent credits include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” penned the screenplay with Kevin Feige on board to produce the newest “X-Men” entry. No other details about the film, including the cast or plot description, have been revealed.
