At 8-0, the undefeated North Dakota State Bison face the Weber State Wildcats with eyes on a big victory in front of their home crowd today.

The Youngstown State football team dropped a close game 38-30 to top-ranked North Dakota State at the Fargodome Saturday.

A Top 15 matchup in the FCS will play out in the Alerus Center on Saturday when the Fighting Hawks host North Dakota State for the first time since winning the rivalry matchup in the Alerus Center in 2023.

The Penguins, who entered a +26.5 point underdog according to ESPN, racked up 371 total yards of offense while scoring the most points against the top team in the FCS all season.

This was one of those weeks where being a Top 25 voter was miserable. Seven ranked teams lost to unranked or lower-ranked opponents, with a total of eight ranked teams losing if you include Youngstown State's loss to North Dakota State. Four of those eight losses were Top 10 teams, making this week's ballot extremely difficult.

Defensively, the Coyotes caused three Fighting Hawks turnovers, including interceptions from Matt Walsh and R.J. Stewart in the first half. Coming into the matchup, North Dakota’s offense was averaging 40 points per game, with quarterback Jerry Kaminski tossing 22 touchdowns to just two interceptions, though that latter total doubled Saturday.
