The 2026 World Baseball Classic final is upon us. Team USA punched its ticket Sunday night with a win over the Dominican Republic and will face Venezuela, which defeated Italy on Monday night. The U.S. and Venezuela are matching up in the WBC championship now on FOX.

Eugenio Suarez’s double gave Venezuela the go-ahead run in the ninth inning.

The World Baseball Classic has reached the Semifinals, and the first of the two games is set for Sunday, March 15 and the second on Monday, March 16.

Italy is undefeated no more, as Venezuela ended its Cinderella run at the World Baseball Classic with a 4-2 win on Monday at loanDepot Park in Miami. The scrappy Italians held Venezuela to just one run in six innings before Venezuela came roaring back with a three-run seventh inning that put it in front for good.

For the second time in three years, Team USA came up one run short in the World Baseball Classic Final. And this time, Venezuela gets the last laugh.

Major League Baseball plans to bring back the World Baseball Classic in 2029 or 2030 and it could eventually move to midseason like the Summer Olympics.
