BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — It’s Week 3 of the 2025 season. Thursday already included some big wins for local schools. Bakersfield, Kennedy and Tehachapi already added a W to their season. On Friday, one of the games with the most interest in Bakersfield will be Independence vs. Centennial.

The Bay Area News Group unveils a poll every Monday that helps us choose one of the numerous high school football games that we cover each week. But we aim to spread our coverage around. This week, we will send one of our reporters – and a photographer – to a game that our readers have chosen. The voting ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

From Abington to Weymouth, and 30-plus schools in between, there was no shortage of stalwarts from Week 1 of the season.
