The Week 17 Lions vs. Vikings game on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, streams exclusively on Netflix. For the second year in a row, Netflix is the home to the NFL on Christmas Day, broadcasting the Cowboys vs. Commanders at 1 p.m. ET and the Lions vs. Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET.
It's Week 16 of the NFL schedule, and the Detroit Lions are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers for an AFC vs. NFC matchup at Ford Field. Here's how you can watch the game.
The Vikings beat the Lions because of their defense. Brian Flores' unit, which entered the game having gone seven straight weeks without allowing a passing touchdown, dominated. The Vikings forced five turnovers. They shut down Detroit's run game, and quarterback Jared Goff looked flustered.
With just one game remaining on the Lions ' 2025 slate, a loss at the Chicago Bears (11-4) would ensure that Detroit locks up a fourth-place schedule in 2026. But, thanks to its head-to head tiebreaker, a Vikings win over the Green Bay Packers (9-5-1) in Week 18 would also guarantee that Detroit finishes last in the NFC North.
8:53 -- Minnesota does nothing with the turnover, yet another stand by the Detroit defense. But after getting the ball back, the Lions stall out after picking up one first down. Vikings have the ball back at their own one-yard line after an incredible 70-yard punt from Jack Fox.
After soaring to the NFC’s top playoff seed last season, the Detroit Lions won’t be returning to the postseason this year, and they could end up at the bottom of the NFC North.
Al-Quadin Muhammad, who entered Saturday tied for ninth in the NFL with 11 sacks, said he has not had any dialogue with the Lions about an extension.
The Lions were flagged for offensive pass interference on the game's final play, erasing a touchdown lateraled to quarterback Jared Goff.
It was a dreadful performance from Dan Campbell's squad, with Detroit committing six turnovers – yes, six turnovers for the first time since 2015 – and averaging a measly 3.61 yards per play. It marked the Lions’ sixth-worst offensive efficiency in a game since 2010 (and their very worst efficiency in a contest since 2020).
