HAMMOND | The owner of a local tree-trimming service pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge of paying more than $10,000 in bribes to a Hammond city councilman to receive city work.

The owner of Dave’s Tree Service heads south when business slows in the winter. He left Dennis Paul Stacey, 29, to prepare the business for the 2018 season.
