Tropical Storm Chantal has been downgraded to a tropical depression but is raising concerns of flash flooding in central North Carolina and south-central Virginia.

Chantal made landfall as a tropical storm early on Sunday, and then weakened to a tropical depression. It is expected to completely dissipate by Monday night.

Located about 150 miles south-southeast of the Charleston, South Carolina, Chantal was producing sustained winds of 40 mph and moving north toward the coast leading to a Tropical Storm warning as of 8 a.m., according to the National Hurricane Center.
