Ethiopians Tadese Takele and Sutume Kebede won their divisions of the Tokyo Marathon on a nearly perfect spring day in the Japanese capital on Sunday.

Tadese Takele claimed his first major marathon victory and Sutume Kebede retained her title to complete an Ethiopian double at the Tokyo Marathon

Tadese Takele (2:02:23) and Sutume Asefa Kebede (2:16:31) won the men’s and women’s races at the 2025 Tokyo Marathon.
