An automated data-sharing system co-developed by SpaceX and American radio astronomers promises to protect radio telescopes around the world from disruptive interference from satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).
But in the early hours of Sunday, SpaceX is also preparing to launch its 33rd commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) using its trusty Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft. The Dragon will be filled with more than 5,000 pounds of supplies for the crew aboard the ISS, which orbits around 250 miles above Earth.

The USSF-36 mission is currently set for 11:50 p.m. Aug. 21 from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Brevard County, according to SpaceX’s website. A backup launch opportunity will be available at 11:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, the website states.
