Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was attacked at a housing unit at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, at about 7:20 a.m., Pedro Calderon Michel, spokesman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said in an email.

Tory Lanez was hospitalized Monday morning after he was allegedly stabbed by another inmate. He is currently carrying out a decade-long sentence at the California Correctional Institution.

The Canadian rapper, who is serving a 10-year sentence, was stabbed in the prison yard of California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi on May 12.
