Saints head coach Kellen Moore is set to make another addition to his first coaching staff in New Orleans. Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports that the Saints will hire Peter Sirmon as their linebackers coach.

This was a somewhat surprising hire for the Saints. New defensive coordinator Brandon Staley will have a total of three collegiate position coaches on his staff under head coach Kellen Moore. Only one of those has any coaching experience at the NFL level.

The first four hires Brandon Staley has made have been coaches without much NFL experience and few connections to Staley himself.

Sirmon, 48, had been the defensive coordinator at Cal since 2020. He becomes the latest Saints assistant to leave a college program to work under first-year coach Kellen Moore. The Saints also hired Terry Joseph to be their defensive backs coach after he previously held the same position at the University of Texas.

Former New Orleans Saints running back and Iowa Hawkeyes coach Ladell Betts was recently hired by the New York Giants.

The Saints are expected to hire Bo Davis to coach their defensive line. Davis will become the third college coach the Saints have hired to their defensive staff.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will be looking for a new defensive line coach in Baton Rouge with Bo Davis expected to become the next position coach for the New Orleans Saints. According to a report from The New Orleans-Time Picayune's Luke Johnson,
