Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford finalized his new two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The contract can pay Stafford up to $84 million and includes $40 million guaranteed.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Rams and QB Matthew Stafford have finalized his new contract for 2025. Rapoport mentions Stafford will earn $44 million total this season, as $4 million has already been paid and the other $40 million is fully guaranteed.

While he is technically under contract with the Rams through the 2026 season, Stafford has given mixed signals regarding his long-term playing future. He openly contemplated retirement after each of the last two seasons, but, prior to the 2024 campaign, Stafford said that he hoped to play for " three or four more seasons ," or roughly until age 40.
