A 46-year-old anesthesiologist was arrested after he attempted to kill his wife while hiking in Oahu, the Honolulu Police Department said Monday.

A former UPMC doctor was arrested after police in Hawaii say he tried to push his wife off a hiking trail and hit her in the head with a rock.

Police said a 36-year-old woman reported the incident Monday morning and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Two witnesses called 911 and helped the police with their investigation.

Pérez was killed by her fan club’s president, Yolanda Saldívar. For the last three decades, Saldívar has served her life sentence in Texas. Now 64, Saldívar petitioned for parole under review, according to Texas Department of Criminal Justice online records.

Selena's killer has been denied parole. Yolanda Saldívar, who was convicted of killing the iconic Tejano musician in 1995, will not be granted parole, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles announced Thursday.

Cameron Scales, 19, and Daveon Dortch, 20, are charged with capital murder. Scales' sister was killed in the Hush lounge mass shooting.

Joshua Bell, 19, is the second teenager charged in the case, in which prosecutors say a woman was shot to death in front of her husband and son last year.

A 17-year-old boy from Fairview Heights, Illinois, was arrested for first-degree murder in relation to an east St. Louis shooting that happened on March 23.
