The long-running ABC medical drama has been renewed for a 22nd season, a representative for ABC confirmed to "Good Morning America" on Thursday. Along with the "Grey's Anatomy" news, ABC also announced a group of show returns for the upcoming 2025-26 television season.

The pickup is extending the show’s record as the longest-running primetime medical drama and the longest-running ABC primetime scripted series. I hear Season 22 will consist of 18 episodes, matching the episode count of Season 21 as well as the typical length of ABC drama seasons nowadays.

Not on the renewal list at the moment: Doctor Odyssey, the first-year drama from Ryan Murphy Television that stars Joshua Jackson as a cruise-ship doctor. Sources say ABC and the show’s team are talking about the show’s creative direction and a decision on season two has yet to be made.
