Sanford city officials confirms Friday night’s fireworks show is canceled after a lightning strike set off the fireworks ahead of schedule.

Droves of people began setting up to watch the Bay Area’s biggest fireworks display in San Francisco on Friday. People began setting up their seats outside the Maritime Museum as early as 3 p.m. The show may attract bigger crowds than usual after neighboring cities had to cancel their shows after pyrotechnics were lost in the Yolo County warehouse explosion.
