The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association reached an agreement to end an illegal 11-day correction officer strike. DOCCS and NYSCOPBA participated in four days of mediation before the agreement was announced late Thursday.

The decision to return to work is not a collective vote by NYSCOPBA members. Each individual who is currently refusing to work must decide whether to return or face potential termination, fines, and possible arrest for violating a court order.
