It looks as though HTC is trying to fill the gap between Apple's ultra-pricey Vision Pro and Meta's way more affordable Quest 3 with its new Vive Focus Vision.

HTC has just announced its brand new VR headset, the Vive Focus Vision, and instead of directly going after the Meta Quest's crown (and price point), it seems to be setting itself up as an "everything headset" closer to what Apple did earlier this year… except good.

Apple rolled out updates to all of its major operating systems this week, and the Vision Pro was no exception. With visionOS 2, the company has a chance to show the relative few who bought its spendy headset — and those who might yet — that it’s still committed to the new platform.

The $1,000 Vive Focus Vision is aimed at enthusiasts, with a hot-swappable battery, color cameras, and an upcoming 120Hz refresh rate through DisplayPort.

The new Vive Focus Vision, which was announced on Wednesday, is a fair bit larger and $1,000 less expensive than that system. The new headset looks to swim in similar waters as Apple’s Vision Pro, Microsoft’s Hololens,
